The meeting recorded an unprecedented attendance of 110 members. Speaker was Dr. Aparna Jaswal from Fortis Escort Heart and Research Institute Delhi and her chosen topic was "ECG in Emergency Room". Members were also motivated for Dilli Chalo project and a resolution was made to participate enthusiastically in the same. A few pics of the event are below. On 27th May early morning, IMA Karnal’s WOW Club (our Women Wing for the uninitiated) started off with a Yog Shivir, their first event of this session. Yog Shivir was conducted by Yoga Teacher Mr. Dinesh Gulati, Mrs. Neelam Bathla and team at Karnal Club. The event was attended enthusiastically by over 35 WOW club members. On afternoon of 26th June 2017, an IMA Karnal delegation met with Sh. Subash Chand, Vice Chairman of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan Haryana. Sh. Subash Chand told that Haryana Govt. has planned to celebrate the World Environment Day on 5th June 2017 as Swachh Bharat Divas. He highlighted the importance of this project and sought an active role from IMA Karnal members. He said the Doctors being the respected members of the society should take the lead and act as a role model. It was decided in the meeting that all IMA members would participate in the Govt.’s endeavor by cleaning the area around their Hospital/ Nursing home/ Clinics on the morning of 5th June 2017 and posting the pics of same on Whatsapp no. to be provided soon. IPL Guess The Score Contest was started on 12th April 2017 and ran throughout the course of IPL till its completion on 21st May. The contest involved predicting the 1st innings score in 8pm match. Members participated enthusiastically with as many as 111 members submitting their predictions online regularly. The winners were announced daily and a grand winner was announced at the culmination of IPL. Grand prize was won by Dr. Naveen Gupta who had the closest average score to the IPL 1st innings average. He was closely followed by Dr. Shyam Wadhwa, Dr. Rajat Mimani, Dr. Sunil Midha and Dr. Ritika Jindal in the same order, all having averages within 1 run of IPL average. The May issue, striving for twin goals of the wholesome info-edutainment and pursuits of aesthetics and happiness of medical fraternity has added new features this month. Besides the Learn, Leisure and Page3, we have added new sections for the IMA family to encourage artistic aspirations of members, KidsZone for the dreamy children and IMA archives to delve into the past glory. We wanted the State delegation to accompany us but the meeting was only confirmed at 7am today and it was logistically impossible to have them accompany us. We did get State President’s guidance before proceeding for the meeting. The delegation consisted of Dr. Gagan Kaushal, Dr. Rohit Sadana, Dr. B. K. Thakur, Dr. Satish Khattar, Dr. Amit Bansal, Dr. Deepak Parkash and Dr. Salil Gupta. We missed a few designated members who couldn't be reached at a short notice or were away. We had 33 families with 80 people in two AC bus coaches. Dr. Parmod Garg and Dr. Munish Garg were the Project Directors who pulled off the event with panache and aplomb.
