More than 100 entries were received. The judges panel included internationally acclaimed top Indian photographers Mr. Pankaj Anand, Mr. Amit Vakil and Mr. Sanjay Pandita. The judges shortlisted 9 photos in the first round and then selected the winner and runner up from them. Dr. A. L. Bambha won the contest as his photo was unanimously adjudged as the winner pic and he won a buffet dinner for two at Noor Mahal and a framed photo poster. Diabetes Education Forum (later changed to Foundation - DEF), Allahabad was founded in 2001 when it also launched its quarterly publication which was christened “Madhumehika” by our then Vice President and Patron, late Mr RN Srivastava. Madhumehika is distributed free of cost to almost 7000 life members (and growing). It endeavours to educate and update the public about different aspects of diabetes using both Hindi and English. We had 33 families with 80 people in two AC bus coaches. Dr. Parmod Garg and Dr. Munish Garg were the Project Directors who pulled off the event with panache and aplomb. Co-Project Director Dr. Iqbal Singh was instrumental in serving lip smacking delicacies on the go. A few pics of the event follows.
